After breakfast, leave Cradle Valley for your journey to Launceston. Take the opportunity to hand feed the delightfully gentle kangaroos. Continue to Hobart and enjoy an introduction to Tasmania’s capital city. The vibrant waterfront, Salamanca Place with its Georgian sandstone buildings was once the hub of a thriving whaling industry. This morning’s journey will give you a feel of the extensive wilderness Tasmania has to offer. Your scenic flight takes you over the spectacular and rugged Tasman Peninsula where you land in a vineyard. Here indulge in a delicious lunch of local produce and wine. Take the opportunity to enjoy more of the scenery on the return flight to Hobart. (weather dependent). Upon return, travel to the Museum of Old & New Art (MONA), one of the world’s most unique and controversial museums. Explore the largest private art collection in Australia. Your day begins with an ascent of Mt Wellington (Kunanyi) which provides a beautifully imposing backdrop to the city of Hobart. On the climb to the 1270m peak, you will pass through a variety of ecosystems until finally reaching an alpine environment. Here (weather permitting) enjoy panoramic views of the city, river and beyond. After lunch continue to Hobart airport where your guide will bid you farewell.
